The best surf height

Opt for 1-3 feet in face height (0,3-1 meters) if you're a beginner. If you surf whitewater the right surf height is less important, as long as the swell is not too strong

The best tide condition

Mid to high tide. However, if you want to surf whitewater I find that low to mid tide works best as the waves break too close to the shore on high tide
